Hearing Tests in Las Vegas

A hearing test is the first step in identifying hearing loss and creating a treatment plan. Even if you don’t have hearing loss, a hearing test establishes a baseline for future comparisons so you can be proactive of your hearing health.

At Melliti Medical Group, we offer several diagnostic hearing tests, each designed to evaluate different aspects of your hearing.

The results of your hearing test will be recorded on an audiogram which our hearing specialist will use to determine what your best treatment plan will be. This will show what degree of hearing loss you have:

Compensation and Pension (C&P) Exams

Melliti Medical Group is honored to offer C&P exams. These are specialized evaluations conducted to assess hearing loss or tinnitus related to military service. We are proud to support veterans by providing thorough, VA-contracted C&P exams in a professional and compassionate setting. These exams help determine service connection and the level of disability for benefits purposes. Our licensed team follows strict protocols to ensure accurate, unbiased evaluations that are submitted directly to the VA for review.

Hearing Aid Fittings

In order for hearing aids to provide you with the correct amount of amplification to hear clearly, it’s important they are professionally fit and fine-tuned to your unique needs. After your hearing evaluation and once you’ve ordered your hearing aids, we will have you come back in for a fitting appointment.

Hearing aids should sit comfortably yet securely in/around your ears. Depending on the style of hearing aid you choose they may also include a custom fit ear mold. After the devices have been fit to your ear shape, then our hearing specialist will program them based on the degree of your hearing loss.

We will have you come back in for a follow-up appointment after your fitting to ensure your hearing aids are at a comfortable level of amplification and to assist you with any questions.

Hearing Aid Repairs

Hearing aids are advanced devices, and their performance can be affected by many factors. Whether it’s a simple issue like earwax buildup, depleted batteries, or the need for updated settings due to changes in your hearing, regular maintenance is essential. In some cases, damage from drops or moisture exposure may require more advanced repairs.

At Melliti Medical Group, we offer expert hearing aid repair services to help keep your devices working at their best. When necessary, we’ll handle sending your hearing aids to the manufacturer for more complex repairs, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

If your hearing aids aren’t performing like they used to, schedule a cleaning, adjustment, or repair with us today.

Earwax Management

Earwax plays a vital role in protecting and cleaning your ears by trapping dirt and debris and naturally working its way out of the ear canal. However, excess buildup can sometimes become impacted or block the ear canal entirely, leading to symptoms such as tinnitus or temporary hearing loss. In some cases, hearing can improve significantly simply by removing the excess wax.

Though it may be tempting, avoid using cotton swabs, they often push wax deeper into the ear, potentially worsening the issue. Over-the-counter ear drops can be a safer option, helping to soften the wax so it can naturally clear out during bathing.

If you are still experiencing clogged ears or your hearing hasn’t improved after trying home remedies, it may be time for a professional ear exam. We’re here to help identify the cause and get your hearing back on track.

Tinnitus Management

Have you ever heard a sound in your ears that doesn’t seem to be externally present? You’re not alone. These phantom sounds are known as tinnitus, also called “ringing in the ears.” Almost everyone will experience tinnitus at some time in their life, but for some people, it can be so loud and persistent that it impacts their day-to-day life.

Tinnitus itself is not a hearing disorder, but rather a symptom of another problem. Tinnitus can be caused by hearing loss, loud noise exposure, ototoxic medications, head trauma, stress/anxiety, or underlying health conditions. While there is no one cure for tinnitus, there are options that can help you experience relief.

At Melliti Medical Group, we carry tinnitus masking hearing aids that can play soothing sounds to distract your brain from annoying tinnitus. While hearing aids won’t stop ringing in the ears completely, they can help.
